Planning a wedding is usually a stressful process. Putting together a guest list, choosing a venue, ensuring the budget stretches and general logistics all mean that the lead up is rarely straightforward. For Andrew and Nalia, they had to hurdle all these issues - twice. Due to circumstances beyond their control a September 2018 wedding had to be postponed to January 2019. In his groom’s speech, Andrew emotionally said that he thought they would never get to this day. But, thankfully they did, and myself and David were delighted to capture it.
Held at the wonderful Marine Hotel in Whitstable, Andrew and Nalia's ceremony was a lovely and intimate affair. Close family and friends looked on as the couple exchanged vows with Andrew's sister reading a beautiful poem which ensured bride Nalia broke down in tears again (in a good way!!!).
The main issue for the day was the wet January weather. Myself and David wanted to use the the Tankerton slopes for portraits and group shots but had to pick our times carefully. Thankfully, there were windows of sunshine which gave us time to usher the guests outside for the shots. With a mixture of indoor and outdoor images, we managed to get all the requested photos - just!!!
After the wedding breakfast, we captured the speeches. Best man Declan delivered a perfect mixture of laughs and emotion that summed up Andrew and Nalia perfectly. Once the couple was toasted for the last time it was cutting of the cake and first dance. So often, people are reticent about entering the dance floor during a first dance but when Andrew and Nalia signalled for everybody to join them, the whole room did, much to the DJ's relief!
A loving couple, laughs, tears, friends and family - what more could you want from a wedding!? We had a great time capturing Andrew and Nalia' s big day and wish them the very best for their life together.
